3 Useful Tools For Building An Engaging Social Media Following
Let's face it, building a social media following is one of the top priorities in any blogger's strategy. The bad part about it is, there's some hurdles you have to face before you can actually get that following to where you need it to be before you become successful. I see a lot of bloggers that have a large following. Some of these bloggers have a great response when they post to their social media accounts, and other's are not so great. This means that the significance of the number of social media followers you have is irrelevant to your success. Is it good to have a lot of followers? Sure, but why have thousands, if not millions, if you can't get them to engage you? I want to discuss how to get a following that actually interacts with you. You can find tons of posts on how to get a lot of followers and fans, but not so many on how to get the one's that engage with you and eventually make you rich. Building the Social Media Fans I could build a thousand followers on one social account in a week. You could too. There are tools out there that are used primarily for that purpose alone. There's a great one that I use and promote for getting more Twitter traffic instantly, and this is a really great tool to … [Read More...]

Is Your Blog Ready For The New Penguin Update?
I'm not usually one to write about technical things like the new Penguin update, but one of my friends, Elizabeth, wrote a post today that caught my eye on when we could expect the new Penguin update. Once upon a time, for you newer bloggers, Google dropped a bomb in the form of Penguin on a lot of sites. The result was utter chaos. Site's that were on top of the search results for high competition keywords suddenly dropped out of site instantly, taking their profits with them to the sandbox. This article that Elizabeth wrote was very well taken, and I encourage you to read it, but there's more than just building links in blogging. Avoiding the New Penguin Update Sandbox If you have used anything that is not considered "organic" by Google, then you may be hurting in the next few weeks. I have a lot of friends that build links, either by the common form of browsing people's sites and commenting on their posts, and some even use the ever popular link building services that can help you launch your site to page one of Google very quickly. But who can say that these techniques are safe? I don't use them, that's for sure! But how can one assure that their blog will be safe once the new Penguin 2.0 is released? Why I … [Read More...]

3 Creative Ways To A Better Facebook Marketing Campaign
Everyone wants to build a better Facebook marketing plan for their social media strategy. A lot of things that I'm hearing these days are posts on how to find your voice in the blogosphere, when in reality, all you need is consistency. Sadly, there isn't any definitive answers on how to get these quick. However, these tips, if you stay consistent, will work for anyone who is looking to build on their Facebook marketing either through driving traffic to their site or building on their fan base. Facebook Marketing 101:First Impressions #1-Recently I was doing an interview with Darnell Jackson, and we were discussing Facebook and the many strategies of the platform in general when we got on the subject of first impressions. Most people overlook these things. They tend to "jump the gun" and blast their way into the marketing strategy without actually stepping back and taking a look at what people would see when they came to their fan page. First impressions are the most important one's. Someone said, you never get a second chance at them, and that's why they're so important! Especially to someone that has never heard of you before! When you check out my fan page, what's the first thing you see? It's the Facebook … [Read More...]

Why I Hate The Phrase “Content Is King”
I do, I really hate when people repeat the phrase Content Is King over and over. I would love to find the first person that ever said that and beat him/her about the head and neck with a baseball bat. Now if you're a new blogger and never heard of this, trust me, you will eventually. While you may not understand the total conception of this idea, you're still a blogger and I'm sure that you have an idea of what you will be writing about in the future. Let Me Explain Why I Hate "Content Is King" Most of us are consumed with blogging. It's our way of life, and the way we make a living online. Saying that content is king is like saying social media is a communication platform. Having great content is a requirement in blogging. You don't need to remind me every day, thanks. If you don't have great content, then you're not making money. It's as simple as that. As a blogger, I know the benefits of writing content that appeals to the reader. I know that without content that's appealing and informative the reader won't stay. I realize that without great content I may as well shut down this blog and go back to mining coal. When I started this blog a year ago I knew nothing about blogging, but I came into the industry with an … [Read More...]

As it stands right now, you're wanting more social media traffic. And by now, you've probably exhausted every means necessary to get that traffic. Maybe you've had some good luck, and maybe you haven't. The fact of the matter is, you should definitely be trying something different. Why My Social Media Traffic Results Are Different People have many opportunities to come to your site. You already know the simple task of using hashtags and keywords, but is it enough? You are trying, or have already tried, everything in the online world to make a change to your social media traffic and maybe nothing is working right for you. That's why I wrote this book...for you. I have had six months of extensive research and testing on how to encourage people to click on my social media updates by using different methods of psychology. I first got this idea when my wife actually pointed out that people get emotional on social media platforms...this goes back to when someone got really mad at someone else for posting something. As I studied this, I realized that ever social update you post, you are pulling an emotion out of the reader...even if it's boredom. Some kind of reaction is happening when people see your updates. I … [Read More...]
